Post #4: New Book, The Bourne Identity
My new book for this blog is The Bourne Identity, by Robert Ludlum. I am only about 16 1/2 pages in, but I can already tell that this is going to be an suspenseful and action-packed book, based off the pages I've read. A man is half-dead in the ocean, with a "death grip" a plank, the only thing keeping him from drowning. He is being rushed, by ship, to the nearest port on the Mediterranean Sea, Port Noir, a small city with a doctor, who is commonly know for being a major alcoholic, such as on page 15: "'(The Doctor) practises'. 'When he can', said the skipper's brother, 'when the wine lets him.'" Will the man live?Or will the drunk doctor fail to save him? I have to guess the former, since I believe Jason Bourne is the man. If he dies (Bourne) in the first chapter, this will officially be the worst book I will ever read.
Anyway, I chose this book randomly, really. I had just finished a great book, The Pursuit of Happiness, and I needed a new one. So, I chose this book like I did the last. Going through my dad's collection of novels and finding one that I might be interested in. This, surprisingly, was the only book I had any interest in. The other books, to me seemed like duds. I know that this book is a movie, but I haven't seen it. I have also heard that the book and movie are 95% different, so it doesn't matter anyway. I am going to read this book, I think I will generally enjoy it.
